Bar Harbor® Smoked Fish Tacos

Super simple, delicious and healthy fish tacos made with Bar Harbor® Skinless, Boneless Smoked Sardines.

Bar Harbor® Smoked Sardine or Herring Fish Tacos


Fresh Pico De Gallo:

2 Medium Tomatoes, chopped

1/2 Medium Red Onions, chopped

1/2 Medium Jalapeño Peppers, chopped

1 Medium Garlic Cloves, chopped

1 Medium Limes, juiced

2 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro, chopped

1/8 Teaspoon Sea Salt, to taste

1/8 Teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly ground to taste

Fresh, Shredded Cabbage Slaw Mix

Bar Harbor® Skinless, Boneless Smoked Sardines 6.7 oz, drained and sliced

Soft Flour Tortillas or, for Paleo version,

Large Lettuce Leaves (Bibb or Romaine, washed and dried)

1 Medium Avocado, cut into narrow strips

1 Tablespoon Fresh Cilantro, for garnish


Mix all Pico de Gallo ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.

Place Tortillas or Lettuce Leaves on each plate. Double the lettuce leaves up for stronger "taco shells".

Add Cabbage Slaw Mix.

Add Smoked Sardine slices onto each shell or lettuce leaf.

Add 2 Tablespoons of Pico de Gallo.

Top with Avocado.

Garnish with Cilantro. Serve extra Pico de Gallo and Avocado on the side.
