We receive this question from time to time:

"Just recently tried a recipe using your clam juice. The amount used for the recipe left several ounces in the bottle. I have been unable to locate how long you can keep clam juice once it is opened.

Can you please let me know how long I can store your clam juice once opened and also what is the best way to store it for maximum freshness.

The recipe calling for the clam juice was delicious by the way and I look forward to using it time and time again.

Thank you,"

Answer: We bottle our Bar Harbor Clam Juice in an 8 oz. bottle because most seafood recipes generally call for 1 cup or 8 ounces. However, if you do not use the complete contents, if poured into a sealed container, and refrigerated, clam juice can be kept up to 4 or 5 days after opening.

I've also been told by a customer, that you can pour the unused clam juice in an ice cube tray, freeze it and then pop put and store the "clam juice squares" in a zippered freezer bag in the freezer for future use in recipes.

We'd love to hear from you with your favorite ideas or cooking tips.
